Joshua Steinman (www.x.com/joshuasteinman) is the co-founder and CEO of Galvanick, an industrial control systems cybersecurity startup headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

From 2017 - 2021 he served at the White House, as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Cyber on the National Security Council. In this role, he was responsible for coordinating all U.S. Government policy and execution on all matters related to cybersecurity, cyber operations, telecommunications, cryptocurrency, and technology supply chains. He was the principal architect of the 2018 National Cyber Strategy, the 2020 National Strategy to Secure 5G, Space Policy Directive 5, and the 2021 National Maritime Cybersecurity Strategy, along with six Executive Orders addressing critical national security cyber and telecommunications issues. He was also the principal architect of NSPM-13, which revolutionized how the United States conducts cyber operations worldwide (list of significant unclassified accomplishments).

Prior to serving in the White House, he worked in Silicon Valley at a YCombinator backed cybersecurity startup, from 2015 - 2017. And prior to that, he served on active duty as an Human Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy, with two operational deployments to Iraq. Following his operational tours, he served as an advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations on strategic employment of emerging asymmetric technologies, and wrote the white paper that turned into the Defense Innovation Unit, in 2014. During his time on active duty, he earned an M.A. from Georgetown University, and built a small, American-made luxury sock company.
